Amyloidosis

Susan Tabar Susan Tabar is still struggling with her health and needs our prayers. She will probably be admitted to the University of Michigan Hospital.

From Susan:
Unfortunately, with this disease, sweling cannot stop right away and never totally goes away--- Hospital can only give me more pain killers and Steroids that I have already taken that have a slow effect--- It is a vicious cycle and then my diabetes goes out of control and have to inject myself with more insulin (hormones). The steroids have already caused me many chronic problems and docs were trying to ween me off the higher doses I was taking - now, I am back to square one again with clumps of hair falling out, dehydration, extreme nerve pain, muscle swelling, bloating, not being able to rest or sleep--- (tear)

MSDA Monthly Dance
Michigan Swing Dance Association

SUN 2013-01-20
Every month, the MSDA holds a kick-ass dance, usually on the third Sunday. Our dance is held at the gorgeous Rhythm -n- Shoes Ballroom Dance Studio in Bloomfield Hills. There are lessons at 3 PM and a dance party from 4 to 8 PM. The music is California Mix with East and West Coast Swing, Hustle, Ballroom, Latin and Country and our DJ, Phil Dorroll, takes requests. We throw in a Speed Dating Dance and a Newcomer Mixer just to change things up a bit. A light meal is served, as well as snacks, soft drinks and cake, plus we give away door prizes to people whose tickets are drawn.

For members, the dance is $9 and the lesson is free. For non-members, the lesson is $4 and the dance is $11. If you join the club at the dance, you save $6. .

The MSDA dances are attended by couple and singles alike. For the most part, our members are single and we are always happy to see new members join. The MSDA is like a big, friendly family and we are very comfortable asking each other to dance. In other words, men ask women and women ask men. That's our format. If you have never been to an MSDA dance, your first visit is FREE!!
Starts at 3:00 PM. Member Price is $9 and guest price is $4 lesson & $11 dan. Location: Fred Astaire Dance Studio. 2172 Franklin Rd, Bloomfield Hills , MI . 48302 248-390-0515 http://msda.org Email msda@att.net

CACD Volleyball
Catholic Alumni Club

SUN 2013-01-20
SUNDAYS, JAN. 6TH, 13TH, 20TH & 27TH 3:00 PM TO 4:30 PM CACD VOLLEYBALL! Who is up for some indoor recreation and fellowship during the long, dark, cold months of winter? There is a nice facility in Southfield, the Beech Woods Recreation Center, that allows drop-in use of their gym for only $5 per person. I've already played volleyball with this group; it's a friendly, non-competitive mix of men and women, aged 30 & 40 "somethings," who play at the beginner to intermediate level. We are invited to join them or the staff can set up another net if we get a large turnout. The location is as central as we could find for the club: only one mile west of 9 Mile & Telegraph Rd. The address is 22200 Beech (the extension of Beech Daly), Southfield, MI 48033. It is one block south of 9 Mile Rd., on the east side of the street. There is ample parking, two staff personnel on duty, locker rooms, bathrooms, a junk food vending machine, a bleacher area to watch if that is more your style, and the place is WARM despite its large size! Afterwards, we will go out to eat at a nearby restaurant on Telegraph, between 9 & 10 Mile Roads - there are plenty to choose from. Please RSVP by the day-of so I can know to look for you. 810-499-4831 yesmarklapointe@gmail.com
