Sailing Safety Wed Feb 22

Mike Clow from The Yachtman and West Marine are teaming up to discuss clothing and safety equipment at sea.

The Seminar will be held at the Detroit Edison Boat Club located at 100 Lycaste Detroit Mi 48214 313- 235-2975

It will be spnsored by the Detroit Boat Club and the Edison Boat Club.

The Seminars are developed with the novice and recreational sailor in mind. These weekly seminars are designed to introduce the sport of sailing to non- sailors and to broaden the knowledge of newer sailors. They are free and open to the public. One need not belong to a club or the DRYA to attend. All Seminars start at 7:00 PM

Editors note: Even though the seminars are aimed at novices, many experienced sailors show up just to talk about sailing on a winter night at a nautical site..

This newsletter is sent out each Monday morning and covers events of interest to active people . It attempts to publicize worthwhile events that do not receive adequate media attention.

As Valentine's Day approaches
Love and relationships thoughts soar.
Those of you lucky to have love
Can find romance right at your door.

Those of us who are single, though
And haven't yet found that great match
Still don't have a reason to cry
Or even to be crosspatch.

As the spirit of shared friendship
Can lift us up right by the hand.
There's no reason to let ourselves
Sink, unseen, down into the sand.

Remember you have friends out there
And there are always things to do.
So that is one of the reasons
I send these newsletters to you.

Friendship is like the breeze,
You can't hold it,
Smell it,
Taste it,
Or know when it's coming,
But you can always feel it,
And you'll always know it's there,
It may come and then go,
But you can know it'll always be back.

Terri Fanning

Happy St. Valentine's Day

Love is patient,
Love is kind.
It bears all things,
Believes all things,
Hopes all things,
Endures all things.
Love never fails.

1 Corinthians 13:4, 7

Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand.

Mother Teresa

A friend is one before whom I may think aloud.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Give all to love; obey thy heart.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

God enters by a private door into every individual.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Men Are Just Happier People-- What do you expect from such simple creatures? Your last name stays put. The garage is all yours. Wedding plans take care of themselves. Chocolate is just another snack. You can be President. You can never be pregnant. You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park. You can wear NO shirt to a water park. Car mechanics tell you the truth. You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky. You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt.

Same work, more pay. Wrinkles add character. Wedding dress $5000 Tux rental-$100. People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them. The occasional well-rendered belch is practically expected. New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet. One mood all the time.
