Holy Humor

GOOD SAMARITAN

A Sunday school teacher was telling her class the story of the Good Samaritan. She asked the class, "If you saw a person lying on the roadside, all wounded and bleeding, what would you do?"
A thoughtful little girl broke the hushed silence, "I think I'd throw up."

DID NOAH FISH?

A Sunday school teacher asked, "Johnny, do you think Noah did a lot of fishing when he was on the Ark ?" "No," replied Johnny. "How could he, with just two worms."

Letters from our readers

Dear Peggy Jo,
I don't know why everyone is getting so upset about the price of gas. In 1952 the minimum wage was seventy five cents and the price of a gallon of gas was fifty cents. Today the minimum wage is $7.50 and the price of a gallon of gas is less than $5.00.

Everything has gone up in price.

R.L.

Who Hit John? Live @ the Ark - Take a Chance Tuesday
Music, Folk Music & Dancing

TUE 2012-02-28
Who Hit John has been performing, jamming, and busking since 2006, evolving from their beginnings as an old time string band playing on the street corner for tips. Now weaving gypsy swing and hot jazz flavors into an already diverse collage of barnstorming old time originals and traditional songs, they blend music of the 20's, 30's and 40's with a fresh breath of excitement and soul.

Crocker House Museum Trip

SUN 2012-03-04
Crocker House Museum The first mayor of Mount Clemens, Joshua Dickinson, built this Italianate house in 1869. His daughter Katherine, the great-granddaughter of city founder Christian Clemens, and his son-in-law, George M. Crocker moved into the house after their marriage in 1870. Crocker, a former prosecuting attorney and justice of the peace, became mayor upon Dickinson's death. Mount Clemens was known as the great health and pleasure resort of Michigan. People from all over the world and from all walks of life came to Mount Clemens for the healing powers of mineral baths. A visit will take you back in time to when the Crocker family lived in the home and also offer a glimpse into Mount Clemens' famous Mineral Bath era. Many art pieces are also on display by local artist Franklin Harold Hayward. The museum is open March through December, Tuesday thru Thursday 10 am - 4 pm and the first Sunday of each month 1 - 4 pm, excluding holidays. The Crocker House Museum also offers many special and educational programs including a Cemetery Walk, Garden Walk, Garden and Christmas Teas, Etiquette Classes, and historical lectures.
