Daylight Savings Time extended

This coming Sunday Daylight Savings Time is three weeks early. So at 2:00 AM you should spring forward and set your clocks ahead by one hour.(also change the batteries in your smoke and CO2 detectors)

Your computer might not be able to automatically set your clock this coming Sunday at 2:00 AM. If your operating system is earlier than XP you can download a program to reset your system's DST settings. You can also just wait until Sunday morning and then reset the clock manually. But when the old DST date comes around your system will then set the time forward by another hour.

The fix is here In any case you can set your system clock by visiting this government site and following the instructions

Minimum Requirements for Vista

What are minimum requirements for purchasing a new computer with Vista?

Larry Kulp The minimum computer for Vista would likely be one with an AMD Athlon 64 CPU at 3700+ to 3800+ speed . For a tiny bit more money though , on a minimum basis I would ( and have ) choose the AMD Athlon 3800+ dual core CPU. - 1 meg of ram is the amount of ram required to even run Vista decently . And of course a 200 to 250 Gig harddrive . If the motherboard has an onboard video chip , make sure the bios will allow the choosable variation to 256 megs of shared ram for video . But in Vista Ultimate you likely will later on add a reasonably priced pci express 16 video card with 256 megs to use all of the Aero features of Vista Ultimate as the onboard chips have some restrictive

What do you think about the computers that are labeled Vista enabled?

It would be fine to use those minimum specs in the Newsletter - As to Vista Capable Computers always check which version of Vista any one unit is capable of running nicely . For Ultimate of course its the high performance units that qualify - Premium is rather demanding to some extent - Computers that are certified Vista Ready for Vista Basic are good for E-mail , Surfing the Internet , and Word Processing and that is about all they can deliver to the user .

Hey Peggy Jo,
I just read your article about all those helpful hints. Does anyone out there know what to use to remove crazy glue?
Hi D,
It depends what the glue is stuck to--- on your hands, try vegetable oil.lighter fluid sometimes works, polish remover or acetone, but you have to be careful with it on your clothes, also a solvent.
Good Luck
PS. Our reader, D, even sent his pants to the cleaners--Still no luck. So, readers write in and help us find a solution to remove crazy glue from clothing. Peggy Jo
Thanks for the Helpful HInts, Peggy Jo.

Hi Peggy Jo,
I failed to receive your great newsletter today - can you doublecheck on this ? [2-26-2007 edition]
Dear J.D.,
We sent a message to all the people in our database that used either or to alert them that there was a probelm. We know some of the people did receive their emails but many did not. We did not get any information from wowway but one of our readers said that they called wowway and were told that the PJSN was not being blocked but did not have an answer as to why so many people did not get their newsletter. We hope that this week the problem will be resolved.
Hi Peggy Jo,
The problem I told you about was from my computer - firewall - so I should be OK now,
Dear J.D.
We are happy you solved your problem but we do know that many other people did not get their emails. Thanks for letting us know
Dear Peggy Jo,
Please keep sending me the newsletter. I am in Florida but I am planning to return to Michigan This Summer. C.A.
