A smile makes us look younger While prayers make us feel stronger--- And friends?--- They make us enjoy life.

I took down some of my twinkle lights on Sunday and I was thinking how neat it was for Birmingham and Royal Oak to keep their lights up during those long winter nights.Way to go !!!

Bob Woodruff - A Miracle

Bob Woodruff It was amazing to see the life that flowed through Bob Woodruff this weekend at Borders in Birmingham where the people who came out to see him were packed in like sardines. He and his wife Lee spent hours signing books as the line of people snaked in and out of the towers of book shelves. Customers were given different colored wristbands and were called into the line by their color group. Many people left and then came back after half an hour or more asking if they could line up yet and were told that their color still hadn’t been called. While waiting, I spoke to Bob’s parents about their son’s miraculous recovery. I also watched a wonderful little interview with Bob’s twin brother by one of the reporters from Robin Tarnow’s 2nd grade student news show at Pierce Elementary in Birmingham. The event was quite a tribute to a very special miracle.

The photo was provided by David Witkowski

On January 29, 2006, while reporting on U.S. and Iraqi security forces, Woodruff was seriously injured by a roadside bomb that struck his vehicle near Taji, Iraq.

In February 2007, Woodruff and his wife Lee co-wrote a memoir "In an Instant," (which is why he was at Borders) chronicling his injuries in Iraq and how their family persevered through a time of intense trauma and uncertainty. The Woodruff family also established the Bob Woodruff Family Fund for Traumatic Brain Injury (BWFF) to raise money to assist members of the military with cognitive rehabilitation and care following a traumatic brain injury suffered in service to their country. Woodruff ,born 1961 in Bloomfield Hills, MI, has a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School and a BA from Colgate University. He and his wife Lee have four children.

He ordered the angels to protect you wherever you go.
