Palm Sunday

Daniel 9:27
"So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;
it will be built again, with plaza and moat, even in times of distress."

According to a friend who is fairly knowledgeable on the subject of Bible prophecy, this verse can be calculated to be 483 years from the date of the decree

(Nehemiah 2:1-8) -
and which turns out to be the very day that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a colt, the foal of a donkey
(Luke 19:29-40) -
the day that we refer to as Palm Sunday.

The Tigers Return

CharleyCharley Marcuse, The Singing Hotdog Man" started selling hotdogs in the summer of 1999 at the old Tiger Stadium on Michigan and Trumbull. He moved over to Comerica Park when it opened in 2000 and has been there for the past eight seasons. He will be starting his ninth when the American League Champion Detroit Tigers open their home season on Monday the 2nd of April. He got his idea of using an "operatic" approach to vending hot dogs during a Three Tenors Concert at Tiger Stadium. The fans thought it was great and he has been singing ever since

Sailing Singles "Elite Eight"

Elite eight On board the Galaxy cruise Ship in the British Virgin Islands are (from the left clockwise) are Doris Schucter, Marlene Solomon, Suzanna Kain,Virginia Codd, Lee lindsay, Pat Elliott, Barbara Clarke and Karen Mc Callister. By press time the NCAA will have selected their elite eight for this coming weeks basketball tournament.

They were hoping to run into John Faitel and his crew but John reported that they were not able to synchronize the itineraries.. He was in the BVI starting March 4 as skipper of a 50 ft Beneteau for two weeks and then a 38 ft. catamaran for the next two weeks and will be there until April 4..

SOME OLD & NEW TIPS.

PJSN readers, let me know how theywork.
thanx Mary

(Continued from last week)
Broken Glass
Use a dry cotton ball to pick up little broken pieces of glass - the fibers catch ones you can't see!
No More Mosquitoes
Place a dryer sheet in your pocket. It will keep the mosquitoes away.
Squirrel Away!
To keep squirrels from eating your plants sprinkle your plants with cayenne pepper. The cayenne pepper doesn't hurt the plant and the squirrels won't come near it.
Easier thank you's
When you throw a bridal/baby shower, buy a pack of thank you cards for the guest of honor. During the party, pass out the envelopes and have everyone put their address on one. When the bride/new mother sends the thank you's, they're all addressed!
MINE!!!!!
If you purchase a new bike for your child, place their picture inside the handle bar before placing the grips on. If the bike is stolen and later recovered, remove the grip and there is your proof who owns the bike.
Flexible vacuum
To get something out of a heat register or under the fridge add an empty paper towel roll or empty gift wrap roll to your vacuum. It can be bent or flattened to get in narrow openings.
Reducing Static Cling
Pin a small safety pin to the seam of your slip and you will not have a clingy skirt or dress. Same thing works with slacks that cling when wearing panty hose. Place pin in seam of slacks and -- voila -- static is gone.
Measuring Cups
Before you pour sticky substances into a measuring cup, fill it with hot water. Dump out the hot water, but don't dry the cup. Next, add your ingredient, such as peanut butter, and watch how easily it comes right out.

Letters from our readers

Peggy Jo,
I'd like to share what I saw last summer re:your article on bathroom etiquette: while at the Sterling Heights Summerfest, I was waiting to use the public restroom at the Library when the guy in front of me using the urinal finished and used his foot to flush. I wanted to say something immediately, but was second thinking, lest I appeared crude and maybe started an altercation. I guess he figured he wouldn't have to wash his hands after that, since he hadn't touched the flush handle. What do you say to someone who does that in front of you?
E
Dear E,
I probably get a little out of order when something like that happens-----I was in a rest room once and a classy young woman walked out without washing her hands. She was talking to some people outside the door when I came out. Before I thought about it, "Aren't you going to wash your hands?" came out of my mouth. I was so embarrassed for both of us that I just scurried around the corner and didn't look back.
Let’s ask the PJSN readers what they think..

Just a note of thanks from me to you! I so look forward to your wonderful newsletters, You are fabulous!

Dear Peggy Jo,
Tell R.L. he or she should do something about conflicting events. instead of just complaining. The people in these organizations work hard to plan events and then they have to hear from complainers.
J.C.
Hi Peggy Jo,
You're right on target! When it comes to personal hygiene, most people know the right thing to do after they use the bathroom facilities. Yet many folks do not wash their hands before leaving the restroom. Women are as guilty as men. A 2002 study of college age women at a New Orleans bar observed that 60% of bathroom users did not wash their hands. You'll be interested to know that Fox2 News just aired a story about the a solution the problem. You can watch Jason Carr's two minute report at http://www.myfoxdetroit.com/myfox/pages /News/ Detail?contentId=2684560&version=2 &locale=EN-US&layoutCode=VSTY&pageId=3.2.1
Alex

Peggy Jo,
Your idea of heightening awareness of handwashing is an excellent one! A person never knows whom has touched the handle of the doors, or what germs they may have left behind on a door from a sneeze, cough or whatever their hands have touched!
Thanks,
Sharon
