Newsletter Navigation

The navigation buttons should now work in most email readers. You can click on a date in the left column and you will be taken to that date. To get back to the date menu you can click on the "Back to the Top" buttons .

An email reader is a program that is used read email such as Yahoo Mail, Gmail, Thunderbird, Outlook or Outlook Express. They do not have all the "bells and Whistles" that browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox or Opera have. You can view the newsletter using the more robust browsers by clicking on the message you see at the very top of the newsletter.

Are you afraid to Click?

We have heard so called "computer gurus" tell people to never click on anything. This is certainly safe but it is like never leaving your home because the world is unsafe. The Internet is a reflection of the world and should be viewed that way. Use due diligence especially using your email if you don't know the source then don't click. Your browser is much safer than your email reader.

The next issue will begin a new publication year

This issue is the 52nd of our seventh year of publishing this weekly newsletter. We only missed our self-imposed deadline of Monday morning once in that time.

What is on the blog?

The blog can change at any time. People can comment on blog posts and other people can then comment on the comments. New posts can be entered at any time. Many people have commented on the Sharon Alexander post and more will be commenting in the future. Some people have said they would like to upload some more photos.

Judy Benn posted a comment about the wake on May 12, 2001.

Check out where to get Low Gas Prices

This is still getting many people to click each week so we are keeping it in. Let us know if you think it is worthwhile.

This is a web site that will find the best prices in your area.

Emails from our readers

Dear Peggy Jo,

After having dug to a depth of 10 feet last year, New York scientists
found traces of copper wire dating back 100 years and came to the
conclusion, that their ancestors already had a telephone network more
than 100 years ago.

Not to be outdone by the New Yorkers, in the weeks that followed, a
California archaeologist dug to a depth of 20 feet, and shortly after,
a story in the LA Times read: ' California archaeologists, finding
traces of a 200 year old copper wire, have concluded that their ancestors
already had an advanced high-tech communications network a hundred years
earlier than the New Yorkers.'

One week later, The Up North News, a local newspaper in Michigan ,
reported the following: "After digging as deep as 30 feet in his
pasture near Boyne City , Michigan , Ole Olson, a self-taught
archaeologist, reported that he found absolutely nothing. Ole has therefore concluded
that 300 years ago, Michigan had already gone wireless."

Atta boy Ole! You go guy! Way to show 'em dat we're not so backward as
dey tink! Who said Michiganders are hicks?
