I just unclogged a couple of my drains this week.
The baking soda white vinegar really works well.
Let me know if it works for you.
Every few days run very hot tap water through the drain. This is one way to keep a drain free of odors. Treat any partially clogged drains promptly.
Put a tablespoon of baking soda into the kitchen drain about once a week, then slowly pour in 1/4 cup of vinegar or lemon juice and let it stand for 30 minutes. Next run run hot water through the drain to eliminate minor buildups and odors.
Pouring a strong salt water (brine) solution down the kitchen sink drain will eliminate odors and keep grease from building up.
Alternatively, consider a natural drain cleaner even for blockages. Remove any standing water then pour 1/2 c. baking soda into your drain. Follow this with 1/2 c. white vinegar. The baking soda is basic and the vinegar is acidic, so they will react with a churning action should break up the blockage without using any chemicals.

Want to have fun, meet lots of new people/dancers, contribute to the success of Michigan's signature national swing dance event and become an ambassador of good will representing Michigan Dancers? I knew you couldn't resist!
With only two weeks to go to the Classic, we are organizing our volunteer schedule. It takes a lot of wonderful people to make this weekend happen, including (I hope) you!
Here are the types of positions available:
What an opportunity! You get to talk with all sorts of top dance Pros including the one and only Beata Howe, our head judge! Or you might get to know Christopher Hussey or the Auclairs or the top DJ on the circuit, Victor Loveira! Thursday and Friday pickups don't conflict with any activities so you won't miss anything. Same for Sunday evening drop-offs.
Set up/Tear down:
We always have a good crew and have lots of fun, especially with the tear down. I have some of my favorite photos from tear down parties. Who IS that under the piano???
(You REALLY meet lots of very cool dancers AND Pros from everywhere including St. Louis, Florida, Canada, and Cleveland.
Very Special Job: Beata Howe's assistant. Beata is the head judge and will handle all the competitions. She needs someone resourceful with a cool head and a self-starter attitude. Is that you?
This person gets to meet all the competitors and helps them line up and go out on the floor at the right time. Very important job as it helps keep everything on schedule.
Man the hospitality room for an hour at a time and hob nob with the staff and Pros.
Greet people at the ballroom door and check their wristbands. They get to know your face this way and will probably ask you to dance later on.
We need a really friendly, persuasive person who loves to 'work a room' and meet literally everyone in the place. Big smiles preferred.
Would you like to volunteer for any of these jobs? Please let me know ASAP. It will be a blast!
