See how a drone works on Lake St. Clair

Here is the Drone video for those who wondered what was hovering over the course! Great added value from BYC. Thanks to Kerrie Barno & Todd Jones for posting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPq-1AOYAOY From Mickey Bennett posted on Facebook.

At the very end you can see the operator bring the drone down to a point where he could grab it.

No one over 18 should use ketchup on a hotdog!!

This was tweeted to us by "Charley, the Singing Hotdog Man"

No Ketchup

Nobody drove home the point more profoundly that Dirty Harry. In the film Sudden Impact, Clint Eastwood, playing San Francisco detective Harry Callahan, a.k.a. Dirty Harry, appearing at a crime scene, blows his top while watching a cop munching on a hot dog: "Nah, this stuff isn't getting to me, the shootings, the knifings, the beatings, old ladies being bashed in the head for their social security checks--- Nah, that doesn't bother me. But you know what does bother me? You know what makes me really sick to my stomach? It's watching you stuff your face with those hotdogs. Nobody, I mean nobody puts ketchup on a hot dog."

At the Royal Oak Farmer's Market last Saturday I tried a new offering from Charley The Singing Hotdog Man. It's chocolate candy made with a touch of Charley's mustard. The result is a delightful blend of sweet and tangy. I recommend it!

Mobile Monday
Business and Professional Event

MON 2013-06-10

An article in Consumer Reports magazine asked the question, "Worried about drivers talking on cell phones?"

As the article goes on to explain, we're moving way beyond that now. "Don't look now, but the guy in the next lane could be searching the Web or posting a Facebook entry as he maneuvers in traffic. With the exploding popularity of smart phones and social networks, automakers are increasingly looking at how they can attract customers by integrating those types of functions into their cars.

Such in-car technology is quickly being integrated into broader infotainment and navigation systems, an area of auto technology that's rapidly expanding. "Within five years, 90% of new cars will ship with connected car features," predicts Dominique Bonte, group director of telematics and navigation at ABI Research, a technology consulting firm. For consumers, he says, those services are now "extending their connected lifestyle into the car.""

As most of us know, the use of wireless technology in-vehicle is expanding at an unprecedented rate. Over the last 10 years, we have witnessed a shift in vehicle architectures from closed to open with regard to connectivity. This shift is opening many opportunities for both the automotive supply base and 3rd-party entrepreneurial developers.

In this month's Mobile Monday Detroit, we'll explore the current state of the connected vehicle and what to expect in the future.

In his presentation, Mike Coletta will offer a information that will establish the underlying wireless technologies associated, major trends at both the technical and policy level, and discussion of emerging technologies over the next 10 years. He will pay particular attention to the differences between embedded and tethered (i.e., Smartphone-based) Telematics. In addition, adjunct applications to the connected vehicle will be discussed, such as mobile health and the connected home. Lastly, Mike will explore business opportunities for the mobile community in this dynamic and growth-oriented field.

The meeting is FREE to attend, though reservations are required for security and catering purposes.

FREE parking is available to those who utilize Compuware's parking deck and have their parking stub validated when signing in at the meeting. Refreshments will be served.

Mobile Monday Detroit is sponsored by the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan, Mobile Monday Michigan and Compuware.

About Our Speakers:

Mike Coletta, Sr. Director Automotive Sales, Telit Wireless Solutions

Mr. Coletta is a 20 year veteran of the Automotive Electronics industry, with expertise in Telematics, Wireless and Infotainment products. Mr. Coletta joined Telit in March of 2013 to lead its North American Automotive Strategy and Sales efforts. Prior to joining Telit, Mr. Coletta served the industry via Independent Consulting, and positions with Laird Technologies, Visteon and Ford Motor Company. Mr. Coletta holds a BSME with EE Cognate from Kettering University and an MBA from the University of Detroit-Mercy.

Jake Sigal, CEO, Livio

At 26-years-old, Jake Sigal quit his XM product management gig at Delphi and combined his two passions, engineering and music, to start Livio from the guest bedroom of his metro-Detroit home. Today, the 31-year-old is an established entrepreneur and founder and CEO of Livio, with more than 25 products on the market including Livio Connect, a technology responsible for getting Smartphone applications into car head units.
