Red, White and Blue Pool Party

Gayle Shields is opening her home and pool once again to celebrate the Fourth of July. Her address is 2129 Tall Oaks Drive in Troy, Michigan West of Coolidge, between Long Lake and Square Lake. The Party will start at 1:30 p.m. Rain or Shine.

Bring $6. and a large dish to pass for all day eating, Bring your own pop. The grill will be fired up. Hot Dogs and condiments will be provided.

Grosse Pointe Club- Detroit Boat Club Regatta
On Saturday June 26, 2004 at the Grosse Pointe Club also known as the Little Club which is located behind the church that is next to the Grosse Pointe War Memorial on Lake Shore Drive in Grosse Pointe. Our Commodore Marlene Solomon is an Honorary Judge and we are invited to enjoy the great view of the start and finish from the docks and the lawn.
Beer, wine and cocktails are available in the tent or the Marine Bar located on the lower level of the Club House starting at 11:00 a.m..
Lunch will be available from the luncheon menu in the Sports Grill from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

After the finish of the regatta on the lawn there will be free beer until its gone. Cocktails will be available at the Cash Bar. There will be a live band from 4:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and a Bar-B-Que from 6:00 p.m. til 8:00 p.m.

Salute to America, DSO, Greenfield Village


Kirk singles and Sailing Singles will both be celebrating Independence Day with a musical tribute to our American heros on Saturday July 3, 2004. Bring a blanket or a LOW beach chair Sit back and relax as the DSO lights up the night with a program of patriotic favorites, topped off with a spectacular fireworks display.

Bring a picnic or snacks. Food and beverages are also available for purchase. Meet at 5:30 at the southeast corner of Southfield Road and 12 mile to carpool or drive to Greenfield Village on your own and meet in the park on the lawn. Call Linda for exact location. Gates open at 6:00 PM

Flying Scot Picnic Tuesday July 6, 2004


Come join in the fun and "good eats" at the Sailing Singles Flying Scot summer picnic.We will gather on Tuesday July 6, 2004 at 5:00 PM (or earlier if you would like) and eat between 6:00 and 7:00. We will also be able to watch the starts and finishes of the Tuesday night sailing races off Windmill Pointe Park in the City of Grosse Pointe Park.

Traditional picnic fare will be served: Hot dogs and hamburgers grilled to perfection with all the fixings, coleslaw, potato salad,, watermellon, desserts, chips pop and lemonade. BYOB.

The cost is $10.00. Pay at the welcome table (look for the balloons). Please call in a reservation because there will be a list at the gate. Call Karen McCallister at 313-886-5386 by July 4, 2004

Directions: Turn south off Jefferson on Barrington Avenue which is one block east of Alter Road. Barrington ends at the park.
