Got Mustard ???

Got Mustard Campaign

Jerry is our third Volunteer for the "Got Mustard ???" campaign that features famous people that you might know. They might not have been famous until they appeared on the internet in this campaign. There is a slideshow on the internet that shows all of the 82 volunteers. You can view that show at www.peggyjostudio.net/gotmustard/gotmustard.php or you can try clicking here. If that does not work try a right click and select "open in a separate tab" from the drop down list. If all else fails enter the address www.peggyjostudio.net/gotmustard/gotmustard.php in your browser address box...

In the next issue we will feature one of the other volunteers. If you would like to join the fun send your electronic photo to webmaster@peggyjostudio.net (.jpg is preferred. )

Bumper Crop

Mosquitoes

The Associated Press reports that flooding, heavy rains and summer heat have produced a bumper crop of pesky mosquitoes, particularly in the waterlogged Midwest. Here's how experts recommend avoiding the bugs and treating their bites:
_Wear insect repellent containing deet, picaridin or oil of lemon eucalyptus and apply it frequently.
_Drain standing water from backyard bird baths, discard old tires and other containers that trap water, and frequently replace water in kiddie pools.
_Avoid going outside from dusk to dawn, peak activity times for some mosquitoes
_Avoid dark clothes, which can absorb heat and make you more visible; choose neutral colors that blend in with the environment.

_Avoid perfumes and sweet-smelling lotions and cosmetics, including lavender scents, which attract mosquitoes.

_Perspiration is a lure, so wash after exercising or sweating heavily.
_Antihistamine tablets taken throughout mosquito season or after being bitten can help reduce bumps and itchiness
_Hydrocortisone creams and other over-the-counter anti-itch treatments sometimes help reduce discomfort.

Production Problems with 6/30/2008 Newsletter

Many people have noticed that in the 6/30/2008 issue of the Peggy Jo Studio Newsletter that the quotes were not changed and the letters to the editor were the same as the previous week.

This was due to a problem with the techincal editor's personal computer system. A spyware program, hellzlittlespy, was removed by the "Spybot Search and Destroy" program. It is not clear at this time why the removal of this spyware prevented the technical editor from accessing his system but an alternate method of producing the newsletter had to be used. (See the letter in the "Emails from our readers" section) This method did not provde all of the facilities of the primary system

Steps are being taken to prevent this from happening in the future.

The newsletter was emailed on time with all of the events for the 247th consecutive week.

We Have Mustard !!!

Book Beat

After only three weeks, Charley's Ballpark Mustard is now appearing in over 27 stores throughout Southeastern Michigan. The complete list is here If the link does not work the address is http://www.peggyjostudio.net/gotmustard/CharleysVendors.php.

E-Mails from our Readers

Dear Peggy Jo,

This is a warning to all people who use the program "Spybot Search and Destroy" to clear their system hard drive of Spies {those pesky files that send information about your browing back to the creator of the file). They get on your hard drive attached to files that you download from the internet.

One such file is "hellzlittlespy". Spybot finds the file, along with other spyware, and asks you if you want to fix the problem. If you allow Spybot to remove "hellzlittlespy" your registry will be corrupted and you will be put into an unrecoverable loop the next time you try to boot you system. So leave it there until Spybot can correct the problem.

Check with google or Spybot to see what progress is being made to rectify the problem.

Dear Peggy Jo,

I tried Charley's Mustard and it is the best best I have tasted!!!

Laura

Hi, PeggyJo

- - thanks again for helping us reach so many people to promote (& then we were forced to cancel) Crawford Armstrong Handicapped Association 30th annual Fun Day in the Sun picnic on Saturday, June 28th.

We had 19 power boats & the tug boat from Sindbad's volunteer to take our guests for boat rides this year.  Considering the price of gas, that is amazing!

This would have been our 30th year, & only the 3rd time we were forced to cancel because of bad weather (it rained really hard on Belle Isle Saturday morning). Two days prior our big tent was partially disloged twice and a very large tree limb was split in half because of the bad weather. We do not take any  chances with our guests safety.

Because Detroit Yacht Club donated their grounds to CAHA for the day, and no other day was available, we could not reschedule, so all the food was donated to the Capuchin Kitchen.

PeggyJo, thank you for your newsletter...it was impossible to contact everyone that had planned to volunteer that day and your column helped us inform many people of the cancellation.

We on the CAHA board work for 11 months in advance to make this a special day for the Handicapped - -we were very disappointed, but everyone's safety is our priority!

Here are the dates for everyone to plan on for 2009
       DATES FOR CAHA, 2009
       Butterfly Ball (Fund Raiser). . . . . .April 25, 09
       Fun Day in the Sun Picnic.  . . . .  June 20, 09

Mary Gavin

Dear Mary,

Kudos right back to you, Suzanna, Robert, Debbie and the CAHA directorse for all the great work you do.

Peggy Jo

Hello Peggy Jo,

------Here is the home page of AMUUSE---people can go on line to amuuse.org and pick up the page for the August camp---always lots of fun-----all singles---maybe if they need additional questions answered they can call me!!!???  313 510 1089

Thanks,    John Faitel

Peggy Jo:,
Yesterday at the Sailing Singles Picnic, a few of us were talking about the fact that Macomb Senior Center is having speed dating.  Do you know of any other organization that is doing the same?  There are national chains that do this type of organizing, but none of them are in our area.  Wouldn’t it be great if we could get something like this going?  It would be a lot of fun, too!
K.

Dear Peggy Jo,

I'm a new singles person, and a friend sent me your email address.  Please add me to your mailing list.
