He said, "If you listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you."

She is also famous for being the President of Bethany East.Connie is employed by Art Van in the IT department. She is also a member of Inforum, the Five Star Connection and the Somerset Singles Ski and Golf Club, where she is improving her golf. Connie says that Bethany is not just an organization that throws dances. It is an outreach program for all single, widowed, divorced people who want to get back into the the "Swing of Things". According to Connie if a person does not feel comfortable in a Bethany group alternate groups are recomended. She likes the idea of meeting people with different interests in the various clubs
So when you see or contact Connie be sure to tell her you saw her in the Peggy Jo Studio Newsletter. You can see the other hundreds of people by clicking on the underlined words above.
You can browse rather than wait to see a particular photo with the "digital mustard" on the upper lip. One can replace the phrase in the section box with a first name and deleting any other text in the box. Then only the slides that contain that name are displayed.
If you had your photo taken and can't find it in the slide show please send us an email. If you would like to send a photo to be included, send it to email@example.com. We will supply the "digital mustard".
Cocktail Cruising Race Enters Final Preparation Week.
Richard Davis (in the photo) and his son Robert will be crewing on the Sloop "Presumptious" a 19' Hunter which is the smallest boat in the fleet. Richard usually keeps his boat on a trailer but he now has a slip on the Black River. His longest trip on the Hunter was to Port Sanilac. At the skippers meeting he stated that there was a boat about the same size that just finished an Atlantic Ocean crossing. Richard also crews on the "Highlander Sea" a 154' Square Rigged Tall Ship (What an idea for next year. How many people would have to sign up for a charter for the race?)
In addition to Richard's Insurance Business he is also the proprietor of RD Photography at 31 13th Street, Port Huron, Mi 48068. Phone is 810-385-3316.
Many years ago a group of attorneys chartered a very large sailing vessel called "The Windigo of Macatawa" and at the Black River they were moored near the bank. They hired a liveried greeter to welcome certain guests aboard.
To remove any possible chance of controversy, Commodore Cowles announced that there would be no Protest Committee. There is a photo of some of the attendees here
The first leg of the race will end at Harbor Beach where the participants will have supper, bed down for the night and be ready start again on Sunday morning. Points will be awarded to yachts according to their corrected time for that day.
The second leg will finish at Harrisville on Sunday and points will be awarded in the same manner.
On Monday the fleet will finish at Presque Isle and on Tuesday at Rogers City where the points for all legs will be totaled and the Yacht with the most point total will be named the overall winner.
Tell all of your sailor friends about this event. Pass it on. This is something new .
Skippers, call Bob Cowles (313-822-0996) even if you are just remotely interested. Leave a message with your phone number and/or your email address . Some of the boats registering might need crew. If interested contact Bob Cowles.
He is taking applications and one can get that information by clicking on the Race Registration Documents link. The Word files do not always translate well to the WordPress blogs, so you can also get copies by calling Commodore Bob Cowles at the number above.
Last night I had the opportunity to listen to a doctor giving his recommendations on the water that we drink or the type of waters we should be drinking. I had heard this doctor speak on other topics and trust what he has to say, so I tuned in. When he started to describe just how much of our bodies are made up of water, you do begin to understand the importance of consuming water. If I'm going to drink it, I would like to drink water that is good for me, wouldn't you?
He started by taking about hard water vs soft water. Hard water is tap water that comes from either the city water source or well water and contains high levels of calcium and magnesium. Soft water, not to be confused with soft water, is low in concentrations of calcium and magnesium ions. Not to my surprise he stated that both kinds were not the best for us.
Spring water was discussed. He was not to thrilled with spring water since it is taken from underground aquifers that utilizes rainfall and snow melt as its source. Since our rain and snow is no longer pure due to pollution and chemicals in our soil. So he said to try to avoid it if at all possible.
What about all the different bottled water available on the grocery store shelves, he was asked? They all boast about how good they are for you. Not True. None of what the advertisers are telling us is true. Bottled Water has become big business in this country and non of them are overseen by any government agency or the FDA, so they can put just about any type of water in those little plastic bottles and say what ever they want about how it's pure, clean, refreshing, healthy. The fact is, they are no better than other water sources and they are filling our landfills with an enormous amount of plastic that will be around for hundreds of years.
Then there is the issue of the carcinogens that are release into the water from the plastic if it is allowed to get hot, say in a locked car on a warm sunny day. These carcinogens are being investigated as a source of breast cancer. Can you imagine, drinking lots of water, thinking you are doing yourself a favor, only to find out that it caused breast cancer in women who had to fight for their life. Maybe that is why more breast cancer is being reported in men these days?
So now I've just got to know. We shouldn't drink tap water. We shouldn't drink rainwater. We shouldn't drink bottled water. Yet water is something we absolutely have to have in order to live. Where do we get the best quality water to consume? Distilled Water.
Distilled water is water that has been boiled and then the steam produced is recollected. The heating process removes the chemicals and minerals and leaves behind the purest form of water. When you boil water is leave a white or yellow crusting behind, that is the chemicals that were in the water. Boiling the water also kills any bacteria that my have been present.
Now I had heard that distilled water was not good for you to drink on a regular basis, so I was totally confused. That was until I discovered "Blowing the Lid Off Distilled Water Myths" at http://durastill.com/myths.html. So now I am in search of a home distiller.
Drinking tap water or bottled water does definitely not thrill me and if I can make my own pure water for about 25 cents per gallon, then I believe it is worth my time and effort. Anytime I can send one less piece of plastic to the landfill or pay for a product that is full of hype, I am willing to go the extra mile. How about you?
