Dear Peggy Jo,

Here is information on one of the most worthy charities I have ever found - Purple Heart.  Purple Heart, as its name implies, supports our veterans with donations of practically any type.  They will come to your house and pick up anything except appliances and large furniture.  They especially need magazines and books (for the veterans to read who are in hospitals across the nation and world).

Pruple Heart can use clothing (new, old, torn), smaller appliances in need of repair, children's toys and baby things; pretty much anything you no longer need or is in disrepair.  There is a staff of veterans who fix things back to working order.  The items are then sent to our military people in need.

If they receive things that can not be used by our military, they send it to third world countries!  Even old clothes that cannot be repaired or are unsuitable for third world countries, are cut up to be used as rags.

So please ask your readers to NOT DISCARD ITEMS TO THE CURBSIDE THAT COULD BE FIXED/USED by a needy veteran or poor soul in another country.

Call Purple Heart for a pick-up at (734) 728-4560

Or contact them online at www.donatestuff.comand click on the Detroit icon.

You discards are valued by those who sacrificed for our liberty.

Sharon

Thank you sooo much Sharon. I hate to see perfectly good things at the curb. It grieves me when usable items are just tossed when I know there are people out there that can use them.
Peggy Jo

Dear Peggy Jo,

It doesn't matter if you are for/against the war...we all vividly remember where we were and how we felt on 911...wouldn't it be awesome to see this put into action by as many people as possible---just showing unification of hearts that remember

September 11th, 2009

We have a little less than one month and counting to get the word out all across this great land and into every community in the United States of America.

If you forward this email to least 11 people and each of those people do the same you get the idea.
THE PROGRAM:

On

Friday, September 11th, 2009,

an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States. Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this eighth anniversary of one of our country's worst tragedies. We do this to honor  those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.

In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds

Action Plan:
So, here's what we need you to do:
Fly an American flag of any size on 9/11. Honestly, Americans should fly the flag year-round, but if you don't, then at least make it a priority on this day. Thank you for your participation. God Bless You and God Bless America!

Stan/Melody
