Charley fired after 15 years of selling hot dogs at the Tiger's games.

BBC= Bring Back Charley

Save Charley! We're really sad to hear the Tigers fired him. The ballgames just won't be as much fun without him. Let's try to get him back. Here are a bunch of contacts to make:

Once again, the Detroit Tiger's are suppressing personal actions. Remember the dancing groundskeeper that was removed. No one knows how the vending company and/or the Detroit Baseball company came to their course of action. The Detroit Free press published an article abour Charley. Emails from our readers

Dear Friends of Susan,

Thank you for all of your caring, prayers and support this past year after Susan was diagnosed with Stage Four equivalent, Multiple Myeloma with a rare blood disorder called Amyloidosis (Primary AL). Susan is very appreciative and grateful. Unfortunately, time is running out and she needs to start implementing alternative treatments in order to try to, at least, keep symptoms and any more organ/tissue/nerve/muscle/bone/joint damage at bay and curb the excruciating pain that she experiences on a daily basis. Her cancer/blood disease markers are going up and it has been an uphill battle for our dear friend.

Susan went from being an energetic woman who would walk 2-4 miles daily even in the heart of winter despite the ravages of being a Juvenile Diabetic (38 years) with severe Diabetic Retinopathy (now, almost totally blind in L eye) suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis (15 years) and other chronic illnesses, life threatening surgeries and accident injuries, etc--- Now, she is truly being tested as she is mostly couch ridden and struggling to do simple daily tasks and, oftentimes, just a walk to the bathroom is painful and a major effort, especially after days of traveling to see doctors or a couple of hours of errands. Some days are better for her than others, but, those better days are becoming fewer and farther inbetween.

As many of you know, Susan was originally denied Stem Cell Transplant which was the primary method to treat, save and possibly prolong her life. She prepared from November of last year through April of this with Chemo Therapy, only to be denied coverage by her insurance company a few days before her lengthy and risky procedure. Since her scheduled May date for the SCT, she has deteriorated rapidly and is patiently waiting to receive a reconsideration from her insurance company as her Oncologists, Hematologists and Advocates boldly defend her dire need of this life saving immune system strengthening procedure. As we wait, the SCT may not be a viable option as her body weakens and organs deteriorate even more.

Through much research and speaking with friends in the know, Susan has found an alternative, holistic treatment program that acts in a similar manner as the SCT process (with much less complications and risk) that may be the last chance to save her life. The health program appears to be much safer and effective than further bombing her body with chemicals and radiation. This procedure is also much cheaper than the $300,000+ starting price for SCT. This natural holistic treatment will cost between $50,000 to $75,000 barring any complications. Insurance is still not a viable option to cover this cost

.

Time is of the essence for Susan as this facility does not take new patients after Nov 15th of this year as the process requires two procedures 30 days apart and the office closes for the holidays from December 15th through January 1st .

It will take a series of fundraisers to get Susan to her goal. We just had a fundraiser for her a couple of weeks ago that raised enough to pay some of her past medical expenses that were not fully covered by insurance with a little to spare.

We are planning a series of events to get her this alternative treatment. We are looking to do a birthday party fundraiser for her on 9/12 at Abuelos Restaurant in Sterling Heights, MI from 3pm-10pm with silent auctions, Wine Tasting Event on September 26th in Port Huron, Spaghetti Dinner and an Octoberfest in October. We are looking for her good friends to become involved, helping out in any way and to donate something. We are also looking for some that have experience running fundraisers and would be willing to do some in their area. If you think you can help, please respond back to friendshelpingsusan@outlook.com

Thank you very much for your consideration and hope that you can participate in some way to help Susan prolong her life with some hope -- she deserves it as she has been there for so many!

Mobile technology is on the minds of education professionals now more than ever before; but those education professionals are involved in a variety of education sectors, including:

It's a big topic, with far-reaching implications for our children - their current education and their future careers, our businesses and ourselves. Lisa Toenniges and Matt Kurtin of Innovative Learning Group

Who will discuss how learning technologies are providing new opportunities for learning and performance support and will identify technology-based solutions to fulfill performance needs using a standard performance improvement model, as well as providing several examples of performance improvement solutions successfully using today's new technologies.

To that end, Rickey recruits Robinson to break the unspoken color line as the first modern African- American Major League player. As both anticipate, this proves a major chal- lenge for Robinson and his family as they endure unrelenting racist hostility on and off the field, from player and fan alike. MSDA Monthly Dance
Michigan Swing Dance Association

SUN 2013-09-15
Every month, the MSDA holds a kick-ass dance, usually on the third Sunday. Our dance is held at the gorgeous Rhythm -n- Shoes Ballroom Dance Studio in Bloomfield Hills. There are lessons at 3 PM and a dance party from 4 to 8 PM. The music is California Mix with East and West Coast Swing, Hustle, Ballroom, Latin and Country and our DJ, Phil Dorroll, takes requests. We throw in a Speed Dating Dance and a Newcomer Mixer just to change things up a bit. A light meal is served, as well as snacks, soft drinks and cake, plus we give away door prizes to people whose tickets are drawn.

For members, the dance is $9 and the lesson is free. For non-members, the lesson is $4 and the dance is $11. If you join the club at the dance, you save $6. .

The MSDA dances are attended by couple and singles alike. For the most part, our members are single and we are always happy to see new members join. The MSDA is like a big, friendly family and we are very comfortable asking each other to dance. In other words, men ask women and women ask men. That's our format. If you have never been to an MSDA dance, your first visit is FREE!!

IT in The D PINK SLIP PARTY: Networking Event for Metro Detroit IT Industry Professionals and Job Se
Business and Professional Event

THU 2013-09-19

Our next Pink Slip Party is going to be Thursday, 9/19/13

.

After our ridiculously over the top event on 3/13/13, we're hoping lightning strikes twice.

Not familiar with what we did on 3/13/13? You can read our recap here and someone else's over here

So, we're heading back downtown. And we're going to take over St Andrews Hall starting at 5pm.

And yes, we would love to have a few companies step up and sponsor the event. Interested? Drop us a note: http://www.detroitnet.org/index.php/contact-us/

These are bigger and more organized than our smaller, more casual events and tend to have 50+ recruiters, HR folks and hiring managers in attendance with more than 400 attendees showing up. Our 3/13/13 event peaked at over 700 attendees, with more than 100 people looking to hire.

Note: These are not job fairs. Bring a few copies of your resume, but don't feel the need to bring 500. You'll register when you arrive, and the gathered information will be forwarded to all recruiters in attendance. Or, if you email us with your resume ahead of time, we'll make sure that the recruiters attending will have already received it before the event. You are also more than welcome to send us your resume at any time between events, and we will get them distributed.

If you're a recruiter that would like to attend, please email us at detroitnet@gmail.com. There are no costs or anything for you to attend -- we just want to make sure we have a badge waiting for you when you get there. People looking for jobs are going to be there, which means you're going to want to be there.

Hope you can make it!

Curious about parking? Here's everything you'd ever want to know: http://en.parkopedia.com/parking/attraction/st-andrews-hall-detroit/

Attendees are being asked to pre-register by sending an email to detroitnet@gmail.com with your resume as an attachment. ---and don't forget to read the Frequently Asked Questions: http://www.detroitnet.org/index.php/our-events/faq

Want to see what our events are like? Check out some pics from previous Pink Slip Party events or our casual networking events.
