Dancing With God

(A wonderful message that was sent to me by a friend)
When I meditated on the word  Guidance, I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word and I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.

Dancing with god pictureWhen two people try to lead, nothing feels right.  The movement doesn't flow with the music, and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.  When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead, both bodies begin to flow with the music.  One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back or by pressing lightly in one direction or another.  It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.  The dance takes surrender, willingness, and attentiveness from one person and gentle guidance and skill from the other.

My eyes drew back to the word  Guidance.  When I saw "G": I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i".
"God, "u" and "i" dance."   God, you, and I dance.

As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust  that I would get guidance about my life and once again, I became willing to let God lead.

My prayer for you today is that God's blessings  and mercies are upon you on this day and everyday.
May you abide in God, as God abides in you. Dance together with God, trusting God to lead and to guide you through each season of your life.  This prayer is powerful and there is nothing attached.

There is no cost but a lot of rewards; so let's continue to pray for one another.

And I Hope You Dance !

"He will give beauty for ashes, joy instead of mourning, praise instead of despair."

Emails from our readers.

Dear Peggy Jo,

A couple of people in my club, Somerset Singles Ski and Golf club, commented that they were not able to get to the events for Somerset when they clicked upon the link. They said it used to work but now it doesn't.

J.B.

Dear J.B.,

We checked it out and the link now takes one to the home page of Somerset instead of the events, One could then click on events and they would get to the events page.

We are changing the link to go directly to the Somerset events page.

Peggy Jo.

Professor Sarah Middleton arrives at the University of Copenhagen as a visiting poetry scholar, only to find her life irrevocably altered when she stops by a local pizzeria one night. She falls suddenly and unexpectedly in love with Soran Saleen, a Kurdish refugee who wins her heart with his unconventional pizzas. Across a huge cultural divide, the two romantics’ unlikely courtship arouses the passions of everyone around them, setting in motion a rash of culinary courtships and a chaotic comedy of errors. Directed by Guy Sanville, this play will run from Thursday, Oct. 4 through Saturday, Dec. 22. Tickets are available now at (734) 433-ROSE (7673.)
