Tuesday is Veterans Day

Veterans Day is an annual American holiday honoring military veterans. Both a federal holiday and a state holiday in all states, it is usually observed on November 11. However, if it occurs on a Sunday then the following Monday is designated for holiday leave, and if it occurs Saturday then either Saturday or Friday may be so designated. It is also celebrated as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world (such as Canada) falling on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. (Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.)
The holiday is commonly printed as Veteran's Day or Veterans' Day in calendars and advertisements. While these spellings are grammatically acceptable, the United States government has declared that the attributive (no apostrophe) rather than the possessive case is the official spelling.

This Week's Now Famous Person

Kelzie Kelzie is now famous because he is appearing in the "Got Mustard Campaign" . He might not be a real person except to his family where they are very proud of Kelzie's courage while undegoing chemo therapy., So when you see or contact him be sure to tell him you've seen him in the "Got Mustard" campaign. You can see the other 550 plus people by clicking on the underlined words above.

There are over 550 people who have volunteered to participate and we have found it necessary to change the way the slide show runs so that people can browse rather than wait to see their photo with the "digital mustard" on their upper lip. One can replace the phrase in the section box with their first name and deleting any other text in the box. Then only the slides that contain that name are displayed.

If you had your photo taken and can't find it in the slide show please send us an email. If you would like to send a photo to be included, send it to webmaster@peggyjostudio.net. We will supply the "digital mustard".

Congratulations Kelzie!!

From Our Readers:

Dear Peggy Jo and friends;
I recently met a young man around the age of our children, whose wife was killed this past July in a tragic car accident. She left behind five children under the ages of 11.
Weston-10, Taylor-8, Jacob-6, Aden-2 1/2 and Lilly-1.

I met Weston Sr., couple of weeks ago and
I'm reaching out to all of you to help this young man and his family during this Holiday Season.

Gently used clothing (your childrens or grandchildrens)
gloves, hats, mittens...
Gently used toys, books....
Or even a minimum donations for food etc....
I would gladly come to your
home and pick up any item you may want to give to these children.

Thank you. Hopefully you will reach into your heart to help this poor father who is struggling to support his children.
Thank you again,
Jackie

JAN NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Hi Peggy Jo:

Jan Bassil asked me to email you.  She is in need of additional volunteer drivers, and was wondering if you might put out a request in your newsletter again.

There are two names that she retained:  Carol Kupinski and Aline Brin; however, neither she or I know who they are and she felt strange about contacting them at this late date.

A personal note on her condition. There are 4 tiny new lesions on the brain now. The lung cancer has spread to her back and she has undergone 10 days of radiation for that.  Lastly, she has shingles on her forehead, and is being treated.

Let me know if you can assist.  East side drivers would be more appropriate for where she lives.

Thanks,
Pam

Dear R.C.

We sent a second email newsletter to you. The newsletter is sent to all early on each Monday morning. If you do not receive it, look in your junk mail folder, or you bulk mail folder. Don't miss the elegant Christmas gala of the season.

Our round tables will overlook the grounds through the bow windows, entertaining us with twinkle lights. Elaborately decorated Christmas Trees will don the room to compliment our round tables with linens and centerpieces to match.

Our evening will begin with hors devours of international and domestic cheeses and fruits with a cash bar available for those who wish to imbibe.

Come dinner time, we will be served at our tables with a handsome meal beginning with salad and ending with a decadent dessert, and an entree consisting of both beef tenderloin and chicken.

After dinner, we will be entertained both for our listening and dancing pleasure by the renounced Barbara Ware, who really knows how to caress a lyric, and the Cliff Monear Trio. This is a group that has performed for many major events within and outside of Michigan. They are well-known for their musical talents, selling many CD's, and we are so, so fortunate that they have agreed to perform at our party.
