This Week's Now Famous Person

SandyPhil is now famous because he is appearing in the "Got Mustard Campaign" . Phil is also famous because he hosts the very popular "Phil's Fun Dances".. So when you see or contact him be sure to tell him you've seen him in the "Got Mustard" campaign. You can see the other 550 plus people by clicking on the underlined words above.

So many people have volunteered to participate that we have found it necessary to change the way the slide show runs so that people can browse rather than wait to see their photo with the "digital mustard" on their upper lip. One can replace the phrase in the section box with their first name and deleting any other text in the box. Then only the slides that contain that name are displayed.

If you had your photo taken and can't find it in the slide show please send us an email. If you would like to send a photo to be included, send it to We will supply the "digital mustard".

Congratulations Phil!

From Our Readers:

Dear Peggy Jo,

Subject: FW: Ford, Chrysler and GM's 9/11 Contributions

I hope everyone thinks twice the next time you buy a foreign vehicle !!!!!! And YES it's true what you are about to read. To All, This one needs to be forwarded to as many people as possible as a reminder of who is actually taking care of business at home. I could let this one pass by, considering the recent news and events regarding the Big 3, and what's at stake for current, and future jobs for millions of people, and the risk of losing technological advances, knowledge, and experience of our manufacturing capabilities.
For the record...

Ford, Chrysler and GM's contributions after 9/11

An interesting commentary---You might find this of
'CNN Headline News did a short news listing regarding Ford
and GM's contributions to the relief and recovery efforts in New
York and Washington .

The findings are as follows.....
1. Ford- $10 million to American Red Cross matching
employee contributions of the same number plus 10
Excursions to NY Fire Dept. The company also offered ER
response team services and office space to displaced
government employees.
2. GM- $10 million to American Red Cross matching employee
contributions of the sam e number and a fleet of vans,
suv's, and trucks.
3. Daimler Chrysler- $10 million to support of the children
and victims of the Sept. 11 attack.
4. Harley Davidson motorcycles- $1 million and 30 new
motorcycles to the
New YorkPolice Dept.
5. Volkswagen-Employees and management created a Sept 11
funded initial with $2 million, for the assistance of the
children and victims of the WTC.
6. Hyundai- $300,000 to the American Red Cross.
7. Audi-Nothing.
8. BMW-Nothing.

9. Daewoo- Nothing.
10. Fiat-Nothing.
11. Honda- Nothing despite boasting of second best sales month ever in August 2001
12. Isuzu- Nothing.
13. Mitsubishi-Nothing..
14. Nissan-Nothing.
15. Porsche-Nothing. Press release with condolences via the Porsche website.
16. Subaru- Nothing.
17. Suzuki- Nothing.
18. Toyota-Nothing despite claims of high sales in July and
August 2001. Condolences posted on the website

Whenever the time may be for you to purchase or lease a new
vehicle, keep this information in mind. You might want to give more
consideration to a car manufactured by an American-owned and / or American based company. Apart from Hyundai and Volkswagen, the foreign car companies contributed nothing at all to the citizens of the United States ---

It's OK for these companies to take money out of this country, but it is apparently not acceptable to return some in a time of crisis. I believe we should not forget things like this. Say thank you in a way that gets their attention.. BUY YOUR NEXT VEHICLE FROM GM, FORD OR CHRYSLER.

Jim McFerran

This letter bears repeating.

.Dear Peggy Jo and friends;
I recently met a young man around the age of our children, whose wife was killed this past July in a tragic car accident. She left behind five children under the ages of 11.
Weston-10, Taylor-8, Jacob-6, Aden-2 1/2 and Lilly-1.

I met Weston Sr., couple of weeks ago and
I'm reaching out to all of you to help this young man and his family during this Holiday Season.

Gently used clothing (your childrens or grandchildrens)
gloves, hats, mittens...
Gently used toys, books....
Or even a minimum donations for food etc....
I would gladly come to your
home and pick up any item you may want to give to these children.

Thank you. Hopefully you will reach into your heart to help this poor father who is struggling to support his children.
Thank you again,

Respond by sending an Email:to It will be forwarded to Jackie.

You can also donate by clicking on the button below.

Dear Peggy Jo,

To all my friends, family and those of you I may have just met;

If your life has been touched in any way by cancer you will appreciate what Gilda’s Club does.  This is truly a crisis situation. They have now closed on Fridays and are struggling to keep the Red Door open.   This misconception that Gilda’s is funded through a trust or endowment form Gilda Radner has kept many from donations along with the sluggish economy and the fact that they never really had a large donor base is jeopardizing their very existence in metro –Detroit.

At this time of Thanksgiving I am asking you to give up that $5 cup of coffee or glass of wine with dinner and give a gift to Gilda’s Club this week.

Whether it is $20 or $2,000 every dollar will enable us to continue to provide services.

In the words of Michael Radner, “ Bring free is getting expensive.”  Please donate on line, send a check, or call in with a monthly credit card pledge.

Thank you in advance,

For over 2 years you have supported our dances and I really want to thank each and every one of you !

Holiday Outing at Redford Theater GM Ski Club

SAT 2008-12-06
Is anyone familiar with the Redford Theater in Detroit ?? Actually I know about 50 or 60 of you are familiar with it because you went out there last Christmas season to see "It's A Wonderful Life". Along the way, we about monopolized Steve's Polish restaurant in Livonia for our dinner before hand. We enjoyed a great meal at a great price and had a blast. We had such a good time last year; I'd like to do it again. If you're interested, let me know. I'll purchase the tickets in advance and make reservations at a restaurant within minutes of the theater. On Saturday, December 6, they will be screening "Miracle On 34th Street " starring Natalie Wood. This is a movie we've all seen a million times. Ever since we were kids. Maybe ever since our parents were kids. You can probably recite it line for line. But this is a rare opportunity to go back in time and see it on the big screen, the way it was meant to be seen. In a crowded theater filled with people laughing at the funny parts and crying at the sad parts. That, my friends would be a holiday tradition!! For those are not familiar with the Redford Theater, it is a restored old time movie house. Not to be confused with updated. It still has the old fashioned ticket booth outside, concession stands inside. Even the seating is of the original layout, which is very spacious seating as opposed to the "crowd in as many as you can" seating in today's theaters. The Redford 's pipe organ is the venue's master showpiece. This is particularly a rare gem because a pipe organ is part of a building's infrastructure. You cannot sell a pipe organ to another venue. It comes down with the walls of its original owner. Before the movie we'll be treated to a 30 minutes concert along with a second concert during intermission. The Redford is owned and operated by the Motor City Organ Society - a non-profit group. These days, their mission is to continue theater restoration for the purpose of presenting old classic films on the big screen just as they were meant to be seen. Best of all, admission is only $4.00. If you'd like to meet for dinner before hand again, let me know and I will make the reservations. I'm putting the restaurant for dinner up for a vote. Many liked Steve's because of the great deal they gave us (who can forget the 2-3 days worth of take home everybody got) and their total "non-smoking" policy. The other restaurant in the running was El Nibble Nook Mexican restaurant. Both were within five minutes of the theater. This is a Holiday Classic, so why not do it in Holiday Classic style?? More information about the Redford Theater can be found here: Please let me know if you're interested. I will try to make restaurant reservations someplace afterward. Talk soon, -Darrell.
Starts at ..Location: Redford Theatre. 17360 Lahser Rd, Detroit, MI. 48219 (313) 537-2560 .
