Yeah. Did you know that Sanders is BACK!!

Bumpy Cake and Hot Fudge Cream Puffs and all.

On Nov 30, 2005 was the Grand Opening of Sanders Candy and Dessert shop on Kercheval in Grosse Pointe. They cut a Bumpy Cake instead of a ribbon!

The shop has a soda fountain and 10 flavors of Stroh's ice cream. They say we can look forward to at least one more Sanders Opening in the metro. area in the next year (I hope it's in my area!)

Fred Sanders opened his first shop in Detroit in 1875 and eventually there were 57 stores in the area. The brand was sold to Country Home Bakery of Connecticut after the company had financial problems here and all the stores were closed by the early 90's. About 3 years ago Morley Candy Makers bought it.

There is a Laurel Park Place store in Livonia that opened in Oct. 2004, but there is no soda fountain there.

Anyone up for a date to Sanders-Call Me!!

Grosse Pointe hours. 10-PM Mon-sat Noon-PM on Sunday. Location: 16837 Kercheval, Grosse Pointe, MI 48230 - Phone: (313) 882~4966.

Congratulations to Jay Glover who hosted a party at her house for the Kirk Singles and raised over a thousand dollars. This will allow them to adopt not one but two families ,through the Salvation Army, for Christmas.

We would also like to thank Mary Pat general manager of the Bastone Restaurant for providing us with the VIP room to watch the Oprah/Letterman Show.

The other night I was at a party and one of the good looking guys in a tux spilled some strawberry juice on his beautiful formal shirt. I overheard a tip from one of the gals on how to get the stain out by spraying mildew remover. She just sprayed some on and watched the spot disappear.

Another tip (un-related) to make cottage cheese last longer- place the container upside down in the refrigerator- less air gets into the cottage cheese and it will last much longer.

Shades of Charles Dickens and the Christmas Carol. We saw Ebeneezer Scrooge wearing a nightcap now we are finding that if we want to save fuel it would be a good idea to wear a night cap and dial down even more. Most of our body heat leaves through our head, We can cover up with lots of blankets but a night cap would keep us warmer. Look for some night caps to appear on GrayBay in the next few days..

  • Perhaps the concept of auctions is keeping some of you from submitting something for sale or bidding on the items that are on the auction page.

You have no doubt heard of eBay and some of the news releases about potato chips, that look like something, being sold for lots of money. What you don't hear about are the many mundane items sold on eBay.

Not all items on eBay are truly auction items. Many of the people selling on any auction site have a good idea of what they are willing to accept for their services or goods and set up their auction accordingly. Many of them use the sites for advertising with the hope that someone will come along and buy their item.

GrayBay is modeled after eBay. Because it is new, people getting in at the beginning can get some benefits. If you place an item on eBay the cost of the placement is deducted from your account balance. In order to post on eBay and many other sites you must first establish an account with a positive balance by sending eBay some money in advance. If you do not sell the item, no additional charges are deducted from your account. However, if you specified that you had a reserve price(the lowest price that you would accept for the item or service) additional money would be withdrawn from your account.

At GrayBay, for the present, there are no fees and early subscribers will certainly be rewarded for the early support by either maintaining the no-fee policy or a reduced fee policy.

If you need any help setting up an auction, contact the webmaster at Gray and White at webmaster@graynwhite.com

The question of what happened to the Computer Seminars has come up and the answer is a that suitable computer laboratory that was affordable has not been found. In the mean time in home instruction is available click here for a quote Find someone in the same boat that you are in and split the costs.

    Go to the auction site.
